Thank You for Our Best Year Ever!
As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on an unforgettable year filled with underwater film and photography adventures. Swim through memory lane with us as we take a look back at some of our favorite moments AND get the first sneak peek of what's coming up next!
Deep Dive Dubai and The Maldives:
January kicked off with a bang at the world’s largest pool, Deep Dive Dubai! We had the honor of producing SCUBA-assisted photo shoots deep within their stunning sunken city alongside Abbey and world-class freediver Natalia Zharkova. Huge thanks to Jesper for being the ultimate host and showing us everything that makes this cutting-edge dive facility truly the best in the world.
From there, we jetted off to the Maldives for our first underwater modeling workshop of the year. Aboard the incredible Blue Force 1, we spent two unforgettable weeks with our friends at Seasick Productions and Shark Angels, teaching underwater modeling amidst majestic whale sharks, nurse sharks, and manta rays.
While in the Maldives, we captured stunning content both above and below the surface at two luxury resorts: Anantara Kihava and Avani+ Fares Maldives. Their warm hospitality, breathtaking overwater villas, and an underwater restaurant made this experience nothing short of magical.
Mermaid Conventions:
Back home, we dove into the world of mermaid conventions! At Mermagic Con, we unveiled a brand-new "Sunken City" backdrop, and at Syren Symposium, we got creative with underwater mirrors to craft mesmerizing images.
Roatan:
Summer took us back to Roatan for our third (and biggest!) underwater modeling workshop at the Turquoise Bay Resort. We hosted an incredible group of aspiring underwater models for a week filled with diving, creativity, and open-water photo sessions.
Our Own Underwater Studio:
This year also brought a huge milestone: we moved into our new home in Fullerton, CA, where we’ve been building our dream underwater studio! Big thanks to our amazing partners Oceanears, Divevolk, Big Blue Dive Lights, WaterGuru, Ultralight, and Oceaner for helping bring our vision to life.
Halloween:
For Halloween, we turned up the creativity in our underwater studio with black lights and had an absolute blast shooting in our spooky “Haunted Harbor” set with so many talented friends.
Fall Garden Swing:
November was a month of creativity and transformation! We turned our pool studio into a stunning underwater garden complete with vibrant blooms, lush greenery, and a whimsical rope swing.
Underwater Holiday Set:
To wrap up the year, we went all out by building our first fully submerged set! Partnering with our dear friend, Mermaid Brooke Adair, we created a magical underwater Christmas photo set (complete with working fireplace) to end the year in style.
